“Come unto me, all you who labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” The galvanizing presence of Jesus who gives this promise has made Madre-de-Deus Church the refuge of hundreds of thousands of pilgrims.
On the waters that border Trivandrum District in Kerala, on the shores washed by the Arabian sea, stands the Madre-de-Deus Church, Vettucaud. In this pilgrim centre thousands irrespective of religion, caste and language come day after day to pay homage and receive blessings from Christ the King.
Of the few centers known after Christ the King, Vettucaud is unique in that the image of Christ the King exudes mercy, love and compassion, blessing thousands from far and wide seeking succor.
