The image of Christ the King was gifted by Carmen Miranda of Vettucaud in memory of the priestly ordination of his son Fr.C.M.Hillary in the year 1942. The image was blessed and installed by the then Bishop of Cochin, Rt. Rev. Jose Viera Alvernez. From the very day of the installation, believers began to have visions and experiences of the Divine presence, fishing folk returning with empty nets from the sea were blessed with heavy catch. Many people who were mentally and physically afflicted were cured of their ailments.
